How to Prepare an Alkaline Bath
To run an alkaline bath, first, fill the bathtub with warm water and add 1 ⅛ lb (500 g) of sea salt. Dissolve 7 oz (200 g) of baking soda in a quart of hot water, and then add the solution to the bath. The first time, take this bath for no longer than 10-15 minutes. Over time, you can gradually increase the duration, observing the reaction of the skin.
It is not necessary to run a full bath; foot and hand baths also have a beneficial effect on the skin and the body.
Adding chamomile infusion to an alkaline bath will help problematic and acne-prone skin. In a thermos, cover 3 ½ oz (100 g) of dry chamomile flowers with a quart of boiling water. Once infused, add it to the alkaline bath. Take this bath for about 15-20 minutes.
You can also add a couple of drops of essential oil to the alkaline bath to intensify its positive effects. For example, citrus oils enhance the anti-cellulite effect, and juniper or grapefruit oil can help detoxify the body.
Baths with baking soda are usually taken every other day, no more than 10–20 times per course. After that, it is recommended to take a break.
