4 Ways of Making a Hot Dog

Many deny themselves the pleasure of eating a hot dog because it is considered junk food. However, there are many ways of making a hot dog and a homemade one is a different matter entirely. After all, you yourself choose all the ingredients, so you are sure of the quality. Moreover, at home, you can afford to eat calmly, without rushing anywhere. Hence, food digests better, and the dish ceases to be so harmful.

This treat is very simple and affordable, therefore, you don’t need to wait for a special occasion to serve it. Pizza Hot Dogs

Ingredients:

  • 5 hot dog buns;
  • 5 sausages;
  • 5 ¼ oz (150 g) cheese;
  • 5 ¼ oz (150 g) pepperoni sausage;
  • 1 pinch oregano;
  • 2 cloves garlic;
  • 1 pinch chili flakes;
  • 34 fl oz (1 l) tomato puree;
  • ⅔ oz (20 g) butter;
  • 1 tsp salt;
  • ½ onion.

Instructions:

  1. To begin with, heat a little vegetable oil in a saucepan. Then, add chopped garlic and chili flakes to the pan, toss.
  2. Pour tomato puree into the saucepan, add butter. Season with salt, mix, and cook until the oil is completely dissolved.
  3. Add the onion half, set a lid askew, and cook for a little while. Then remove the onion and stir the sauce.
  4. Put sausage in each bun. Cover with tomato sauce, then place cheese and salami pieces on top. Finally, sprinkle with dried oregano and microwave for 5 minutes.

Buffalo Hot Dogs

Ingredients:

  • 5 hot dog buns;
  • 5 sausages;
  • 2 ⅔ oz (75 g) butter;
  • 5 fl oz (150 ml) tomato sauce;
  • 4 ¼ oz (120 g) wheat flour;
  • 4 ¼ oz (120 g) cornmeal;
  • 3 fl oz (90 ml) vodka;
  • 3 fl oz (90 ml) water;
  • 1 tsp salt;
  • 1 pinch soda;
  • 3 scallion stems;
  • ranch sauce to taste.

Instructions:

  1. Combine tomato sauce and melted butter to make the sauce.
  2. Separately mix both types of flour, salt, and soda. Add cold water and vodka, mix until smooth.
  3. Soak sausages in vodka sauce first, and place them in a large amount of preheated vegetable oil. Then put the sausages in buns.
  4. Finally, pour homemade ketchup and ranch sauce into each hot dog, sprinkle with chopped scallions.

Lasagna Hot Dogs

Ingredients:

  • 5 hot dog buns;
  • 5 sausages;
  • 24 fl oz (700 ml) milk;
  • 3 ½ oz (100 g) butter;
  • 5 ¼ oz (150 g) sliced cheese;
  • 3 ½ oz (100 g) smoked ham;
  • 1 onion;
  • 4 tbsp flour;
  • 1 carrot;
  • 1 celery stalk;
  • 2 cloves garlic;
  • 14 oz (400 g) ground beef;
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste;
  • 5 fl oz (150 ml) red wine;
  • 7 oz (200 g) tomatoes in their own juice;
  • 6 ¾ fl oz (200 ml) beef broth;
  • bay leaf to taste;
  • salt, ground black pepper to taste.

Instructions:

  1. Firstly, cut ham into cubes and sauté. Then, fry chopped onions, carrots, and celery in the same fat. Finally, add finely chopped garlic and minced meat, and toss.
  2. When the meat turns gray, add the prepared bacon and tomato paste, mix.
  3. Add wine and mix. Then add chopped tomatoes in juice and broth, mix. Season with salt, pepper, add bay leaf, mix, and simmer for a while under the lid.
  4. In order to prepare the bechamel sauce, heat butter in a saucepan. Add flour gradually, stirring occasionally. Pour in milk, season with salt and pepper. Cook, while stirring, until thick.
  5. Put sausage in each bun, top with minced meat filling. Then sprinkle everything with the sauce and top with cheese slices. Pop the hot dogs into the microwave for 5 minutes.

Nachos Hot Dogs

Ingredients:

  • 5 hot dog buns;
  • 5 sausages;
  • 2 tomatoes;
  • 1 red onion;
  • 2 tbsp cilantro;
  • 1 jalapeno;
  • 1 lime;
  • 2 avocados;
  • 6 ¾ fl oz (200 ml) sour cream;
  • 5 ¼ oz (150 g) sliced cheese;
  • 2 ½ oz (75 g) nacho chips;
  • salt to taste.

Instructions:

  1. To begin with, combine chopped tomatoes, onion, cilantro, and jalapeno, season with salt, and drizzle with the juice from half a lime, stir.
  2. Then, peel the avocado, remove the pit. Combine the pulp with sour cream, the juice from half a lime, and salt, and mix in a blender until smooth.
  3. Place sausages in the hot dog buns, cover them with cheese slices and microwave them for 5 minutes.
  4. Crush chips and sprinkle the hot dogs with the crumbs. Then add the vegetable filling and pour the sour cream sauce on top.
