What do you think about the idea of roasted onions with cheese? Even if you, like me, belong to those who take onions out from your soup and avoid them in salads, you certainly won’t be able to remain indifferent to this unusual snack. My good friend shared this recipe with me and now not a single feast goes without this dish!

The fact is that roasted onions with cheese and herbs lose their spiciness and pungent smell, the dish becomes sweet and surprisingly fragrant, but remains crispy and juicy. A toasted golden cheese crust… What can I say about it? It’s divine! I think if you cook such a dish on the grill on an open fire, you’ll get a gorgeous picnic snack.

Roasted Onions With Cheese

Today Cook it is going to tell you how to roast onions in the oven. Even those who don’t consider themselves onion fans are going to like it!

Ingredients:

  • 3 onions
  • 1 cup (100 g) hard cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tsp herbs de provence
  • salt, pepper to taste

Preparation:

  1. Peel onions, wash them and cut into thick rings, about ¼ inch (5–7 mm) wide.roasted onions

  3. Put the onions on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Season with salt, pepper, sprinkle with herbs de provence, drizzle with olive oil.onions with cheese
  4. Put pieces of cheese or a dollop of grated cheese on top. Place the snack in the oven preheated to 400 °F (200 °C) for 8–10 minutes (until browned).
