30 Pie Decorating Ideas You Need This Holiday Season

Autodidact baker Helen Nugent is exceptionally talented and passionate about food. So much so that she abandoned her career in corporate communications and pursued her baking hobby instead. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Helen started working on honing her baking and pie decorating skills in her spare time. Pinning beautiful pies to her Pinterest board inspired her to start figuring out how to make them. She stuck with it and got so good, she began to establish her signature style. Her unexpected hobby led to her doing work for Food Network, which, in turn, led to a book offer and a brand new promising career!

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, Cook It decided to share with you some of Helen’s works to inspire you to pick up that rolling pin and perhaps make a pie or two of your own.

Valerie

I am an English major with a love of languages and fiction, and with an incurable travel bug. In my free time, I read fantasy, drink copious amounts of coffee, and like to go see movies. Culinary art means everything to me. My main hypostasis is the taster, though. The music school has taught me to appreciate the symphony of airy meringues, to create harmonious overtures of light snacks, hard rock of meat, fish, and vegetables on the grill. Choir classes have accustomed me to hear and feel the people nearby and create perfect harmonies of sounds.
