How to Tell if Your Refrigerator Is Leaking

This dollar-bill trick is great because there’s no need to call a repair person. You can check if your fridge’s door seal is damaged in a few minutes.

1. Take a dollar bill and open the refrigerator door.
2. Close the bill in the door, leaving a part of it outside so you could grab it. Close the door and pull the bill. There should be enough resistance.
3. If the dollar bill slides out too easily, the seal probably needs to be replaced. It can also mean that the seal is dirty. Try cleaning it and pulling the bill once again.
4. Repeat the test along the entire door seal.
