When we want to snack on something, we usually resort to buying some sausages, crackers, chips or nuts with various flavors at the closest store. Of course, such a lure is difficult to resist, but just imagine how many flavor enhancers and other additives are there in those snacks! Fortunately, you don’t need any of those if you have at least one onion in the fridge! Today we are going to present you with an excellent crispy onion rings recipe.

That’s right, you can make an great appetizer from a simple onion without even leaving your house.  Our recipe is unusual due to a little twist: lots of delicious stretchy cheese. The result will amaze you!

Peel the onions, cut off the edges, cut the most voluminous part of the onion into rings (about ½ inch wide) and separate them. Cut the cheese into thin strips.

Place smaller onion rings in the wider ones, fill the space between the rings with strips of cheese. Then put them all in the fridge for an hour.

Dip the rings in the flour, beaten eggs, bread crumbs, egg mixture and bread crumbs again, exactly in this order.

Heat vegetable oil up to about 350 °F (180 °C) in a small saucepan and place the onion rings in it. Fry the snacks until golden brown.

Carefully remove the meal from oil with tongs or a skimmer and lay future snacks on a paper towel to get rid of excess fat.

These golden onion rings taste amazing with sour cream or yogurt sauces! Change the filling to bacon, ham or even chicken, if you want, and it’d still turn out delicious.
