This mouth-watering bread roll is also called brioche. The recipe is more than a century old. People prepared the bread rolls in the distant 16th century in Normandy and in the 17th century in the west of France. Previously, it took a whole day to make such a sweet roll, because you needed to leave the dough to infuse in the cold. Now the technology has been simplified, which has led to a change in taste.

Today brioche is a bread roll, which consists of several buns interconnected. The cooking process is very simple, and we can assure you that the treat will be eaten in no time.

Mix yeast, sugar, salt and warm milk, set aside for 30 minutes.

Add an egg, 2 egg yolks, condensed milk and yeast. Sift flour in gradually, knead the dough and leave it for 2 hours.

Form several balls from the dough and place them in a baking dish in a circle and with one ball in the center. Cover with a lid or plastic wrap and set aside for 30 minutes.

Preheat an oven to 350 °F (180 °C) and bake the treat for 20–25 minutes until the brown crust appears. Sprinkle the brioche on top with icing sugar.

Prepare these condensed milk bread rolls for holiday and everyday tea parties. Traditionally, the dish is decorated with a rose, slices of marmalade or sorbet.
