Are you an apple lover and want to try something new? Or maybe you just wish to find a use for several apples left in your fridge? Anyhow, our new recipe is just what you need! This apple pie is a perfect french toast breakfast for the entire family.

All you need is your favorite baking dish and several ingredients that you probably have already got. Sweet chewy crumb, soft bread soaked in baked apples with a hint of spice is amazing! You should definitely try it!

Heat a pot over medium-high heat. Melt butter, add apples, sliced, ¼ cup (70 g) of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon; mix thoroughly. Cook for 10–15 minutes until the fruit is soft.

Using cooking spray or butter cover a dish so the pie doesn’t stick to it. Arrange the diced loaf in the baking dish. Set it aside.

Beat the eggs in a large bowl, add in 3 cups (720 ml) milk, ¼ cup (70 g) sugar, vanilla and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Pour the egg mixture over the loaf. Soak the bread in the egg mixture. Pour apple mixture on top of the loaf.

In a bowl, combine the flour, oats, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, baking powder, 2 ½ tablespoons brown sugar, and melted butter. Mix thoroughly. Sprinkle the mixture on top of the loaf. Cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate the pie for at least 30 minutes.

Preheat an oven to 350 °F (180 °C). Remove the dish from the fridge. Set aside until it’s room temperature.

Bake for about 45 minutes until it’s golden brown on top and the dessert is completely cooked through. In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup and 1 ½ tablespoon of milk. Pour on the pie.
