During winter a list of meals that can keep you warm and cozy is a must-have. And we think that nothing can be more comforting than an old-fashioned chicken soup.

Not only is this dish extremely tasty and fragrant but it’s also nutritious and healthy. Be sure to give this classic a try!

Steps

1
Done

Put the chicken in a pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, lower the heat and cook for 1 ½ hours. Remove the chicken from the pot, transfer it to a large plate. Skim off some of the fat in the pot.

2
Done

Using a knife and a fork remove the meat from the chicken and put the meat back in the pot. Also, add the leg and wing bones.

3
Done

Add the chopped veggies, minced garlic, and herbs to the pot. Cover everything with more water. Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and cover. Cook for about 50 minutes. Don't forget to stir the soup several times, while it's on the stove.

4
Done

Give the dish a taste and season it. Let the soup cook for several minutes. Remove the bay leaves and bones.

Such a comforting chicken soup is just what everyone needs during cold weather!

Like many people nowadays, I love to explore new places. My favorite type is slow travelling, when you can really blend in with locals and learn about new cultures and languages. But I think there are also perfect times for enjoying freshly baked pastry, a cup of fragrant coffee, and a good movie in the comfort of your own home. I guess I'm kind of a cultural omnivore, and I watch different types of movies, but the ones about art and food inspire me the most!

Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!|

Hmm it appears like your site ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any tips for inexperienced blog writers? I’d really appreciate it.|
