For better or worse, nowadays, many homemakers do not feel like spending too much of their free time cooking. Hence, they are always on the lookout for quick and easy recipes that will allow them to spend minimum time in the kitchen. Enter: lazy cabbage roll casserole.

Today, we are beyond excited to share with you a fun recipe for cabbage rolls, or rather one large cabbage roll. Believe us when we say that this dish is as delicious as the traditional version, but it is easier and quicker to prepare. Grab all the necessary ingredients, and let’s get started!

Steps

1
Done

To begin with, pass the meat through a meat grinder. We are using chicken fillet for a more dietary casserole. Pass onions, garlic, and tomatoes through a meat grinder, as well, or grate in a food processor. Season with salt and pepper, mix thoroughly and set aside.

2
Done

Chop or grate cabbage and season it with salt and paprika. Work the spices into the cabbage by massaging and squeezing the cabbage with your hands.

3
Done

Add a tablespoon of vegetable oil to a heat-resistant glass cooking pan and spread it over the bottom and sides.

4
Done

Evenly arrange half of the cabbage on the bottom of the pan. Place the minced meat on top and cover with the second half of the cabbage.

5
Done

Combine sour cream, chopped dill, and tomato paste in a deep bowl and mix thoroughly. Add salt and pepper to taste. Spread the mixture evenly on top of the casserole.

6
Done

Preheat the oven to 375 °F and bake the dish for an hour.

Not only is lazy cabbage roll casserole delicious, but it also looks beautiful, making it a perfect dish to prepare for company, as well. Be sure to test this fabulous recipe and share your thoughts in the comments. Bon appétit!

I am an English major with a love of languages and fiction, and with an incurable travel bug. In my free time, I read fantasy, drink copious amounts of coffee, and like to go see movies. Culinary art means everything to me. My main hypostasis is the taster, though. The music school has taught me to appreciate the symphony of airy meringues, to create harmonious overtures of light snacks, hard rock of meat, fish, and vegetables on the grill. Choir classes have accustomed me to hear and feel the people nearby and create perfect harmonies of sounds.
