Sometimes it can be really difficult to make a good breakfast. It can be boring to eat only porridge, cereal, or sandwiches all the time. What to do in such a case? Either set the alarm a few hours earlier than usual or make this oven-baked breakfast from ground chicken.

This simple and hearty dish goes well with any side. But if there is no time at all, a toast will do. This chicken roll will provide you with energy for the first half of the day.

Steps

1
Done

Grate the cheese into a deep bowl.

2
Done

Break the eggs into the same bowl, add the flour, sour cream, and spices. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until smooth.

3
Done

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and coat with vegetable oil.

4
Done

Gently pour the mixture onto the sheet and spread evenly. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 °F (180 °C).

5
Done

Grind chicken fillet and place in a clean, deep bowl. Finely dice the onion and add it to the ground meat. Sprinkle with salt, chopped garlic, and your spices of choice. Stir.

6
Done

Gently spread the ground meat onto the baked cheese layer.

7
Done

Spread it all over the surface and roll it up. Wrap it with the parchment paper and then with 2 layers of foil. Bake for an hour at 350 °F (180 °C).

8
Done

Cut the roll into servings and serve warm.

Add chopped herbs or nuts to the roll for a new flavor and texture. Garnish with halves of cherry tomatoes, add some sauce. This way this simple and quick dish will instantly become a luxurious treat. Bon appetit!

Like many people nowadays, I love to explore new places. My favorite type is slow travelling, when you can really blend in with locals and learn about new cultures and languages. But I think there are also perfect times for enjoying freshly baked pastry, a cup of fragrant coffee, and a good movie in the comfort of your own home. I guess I'm kind of a cultural omnivore, and I watch different types of movies, but the ones about art and food inspire me the most!
