Even such a seemingly simple and ordinary dish as potatoes can be appealing and sophisticated. This recipe for potatoes with spinach is ample proof.

Potatoes form the basis of the whole dish. The cream sauce provides tenderness, spices, garlic, and chili pepper add piquancy, but spinach gives a unique taste to the whole treat.

Wash and coarsely chop spinach, cook it in a small amount of oil in a frying pan covered with a lid until soft (3–4 minutes).

Boil peeled potatoes in salted water until half-cooked, then cut them into medium-sized pieces and fry them in warmed olive oil in a frying pan until lightly golden.

Grind garlic and small chili pepper, add them to the potatoes along with ground ginger, Italian seasoning, and turmeric. Mix and cook, stirring, for about 3–4 minutes.

Add cream and simmer over medium heat for another couple of minutes. Add the spinach, mix well, and cook for another minute.
