We love desserts from fresh lemons for their excellent taste and the fact that you can treat yourself to such recipes all year round. Today we would like to share with you lemon cream cheese bars that are a definite must-try!

The readymade crescent dough makes the recipe super simple. And the delectable cream cheese lemon filling takes this dessert to the next level.

Steps

1
Done

Take a 9x13-inch baking dish. Line it with aluminum foil and grease it with cooking spray or butter. Place a sheet of crescent dough on the bottom of the dish, press it.

2
Done

Zest and juice the lemons. Set aside ¼ of the zest. Mix the rest with the juice in a medium bowl. Add the cream cheese and ½ cup (100 g) of sugar into the bowl and beat until smooth.

3
Done

Spread the filling over the layer of crescent dough. Layer the second sheet of dough on top of the filling. Try to gently stretch the dough to the edges.

4
Done

Melt the butter, brush it over the dough layer. Mix the rest of the lemon zest and sugar and sprinkle the mixture over the dessert.

5
Done

Bake in a preheated to 350 °F (180 °C) oven for about half an hour or until golden brown. Set aside to cool for 20 minutes. Remove the dessert from the baking dish. Cut into squares right on the foil and return to the baking dish. Refrigerate at least 1 hour.

Agree that the final result looks quite impressive for such a simple lemon dessert. Be sure to give this recipe a try and tell us what you think in the comment section!

Like many people nowadays, I love to explore new places. My favorite type is slow travelling, when you can really blend in with locals and learn about new cultures and languages. But I think there are also perfect times for enjoying freshly baked pastry, a cup of fragrant coffee, and a good movie in the comfort of your own home. I guess I'm kind of a cultural omnivore, and I watch different types of movies, but the ones about art and food inspire me the most!
