Glazed beets with walnuts and chives is one of those both healthy and delicious dishes everyone needs in their daily diet. If you care about what you put on your plate, this one is for you!

Crunchy walnuts complement the sweetness and tenderness of the beets, and chives add a touch of freshness.

Preheat the oven to 350 °F (180 °C).

Place beets cut into quarters in a large saucepan, add salt, sugar and butter. Pour in enough water to cover the beets (about 2 cups).

Cook the beets over high heat, moving the saucepan occasionally, until the liquid thickens and the beets are soft. If the glaze thickens before the beets are ready, add another ½ cup of water and leave to simmer.

Toast the chopped nuts in the oven for 10 minutes until fragrant and a bit darkened.

Reduce the heat under the saucepan, add nuts and stir. Sprinkle with chives. Enjoy your meal!
