When it comes to Mexican cuisine, the first thing that comes to mind is probably a burrito. Indeed, this is one of the most popular and famous dishes of Mexico. Many people love burritos far beyond the borders of its homeland. And today we are going to tell you how to make baked beef burritos with beans.

A Mexican burrito is a wheat tortilla in which you wrap the most varied fillings. One of the traditional ingredients is ground meat. Mexicans prefer to add more beans, rice, tomatoes and cheese. The best burrito sauce is sour cream and salsa.

Steps

1
Done

Heat some vegetable oil in a frying pan and put the ground meat in there. Fry until it darkens.

2
Done

Peel and chop the onions and bell peppers, add them to the meat and mix. Now add chopped garlic, beans, corn, 13 tbsp of tomato sauce and Mexican seasoning to the pan. Stir, sprinkle with 5 tbsp of cheese and mix again.

3
Done

Put the filling on the tortillas, fold the burritos. Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil and a small amount of tomato sauce. Put the burritos there and brush them with the rest of the tomato sauce. Sprinkle with grated cheese.

4
Done

Bake the burritos at 400 °F (200 °C) for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley before serving.

If you don't have Mexican spices at your local supermarket, you can make them at home. To do this, mix 1 tsp of garlic powder, paprika and ground caraway seeds, add 1 tbsp of chili powder, ½ tsp of onion powder and allspice and ¼ tsp of chili flakes and ground black pepper. Now Mexican spices are always at hand!

Like many people nowadays, I love to explore new places. My favorite type is slow travelling, when you can really blend in with locals and learn about new cultures and languages. But I think there are also perfect times for enjoying freshly baked pastry, a cup of fragrant coffee, and a good movie in the comfort of your own home. I guess I'm kind of a cultural omnivore, and I watch different types of movies, but the ones about art and food inspire me the most!
