Today’s recipe is not the easiest one, but we promise that the result will pleasantly surprise you. These baked meat buns are so tender and airy!

A properly prepared dough will perfectly hold the filling and the dish will wow your loved ones with amazing taste.

Steps

1
Done

To prepare the dough, mash the compressed yeast, add sugar, warm water, and 1 heaping tablespoon of flour to it. Next, mix everything well with a whisk and leave for 15 minutes.

2
Done

Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Fry finely chopped onion in a pan in oil. Then add ground beef and season it with salt with pepper. The main thing is not to overcook. Remove from heat when the meat is done, but not yet dry.

3
Done

After that, add the warm milk, eggs, salt, and refined oil to the dough.

4
Done

After thoroughly mixing the liquid part of the dough, add 4 ¾ cups (600 g) of flour. Continue to stir it with a whisk until smooth.

5
Done

Pour the rest of the flour onto a work surface. Spread the dough on it. Knead it, and after a while add butter, then knead for another 10 minutes.

6
Done

The dough should be sticky, but not stick to your hands too much. Stretch it on the surface and then fold it in half.

7
Done

Place the dough in a warm place for about 1 hour, cover it with a towel. It should double in size.

8
Done

Lightly dredge the dough in flour on the outside to make it easier to work with. Next, divide the dough into 5 oz (140 g) pieces and make the buns.

9
Done

Roll out each bun with a rolling pin, then cut in half. Brush the surface with ketchup and place the filling on top. You can also add grated cheese. Then twist each half like cones.

10
Done

Place the cones into a baking dish, brush the top with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 40 minutes at 350 °F (180 °C).

At the end, you will have some extra dough left which you can use to make delicious homemade pizza. We can assure you that these amazing buns will disappear in an hour.

Like many people nowadays, I love to explore new places. My favorite type is slow travelling, when you can really blend in with locals and learn about new cultures and languages. But I think there are also perfect times for enjoying freshly baked pastry, a cup of fragrant coffee, and a good movie in the comfort of your own home. I guess I'm kind of a cultural omnivore, and I watch different types of movies, but the ones about art and food inspire me the most!
