Simple but hearty breakfasts are real art. Especially if you spend less than half an hour cooking them. Among these, in our humble opinion, the most charming one is French toast. These are small bread roll-ups with various fillings.

This time we decided to share with you a recipe for sweet apple roll-ups. The fragrant crispy dish can serve as a snack or breakfast. It is cooked very simply.

Steps

1
Done

Wash, peel, and core the apples. Cut the fruit into small cubes, put in a dry frying pan. Add sugar, place on a low heat.

2
Done

Stir apples until sugar dissolves and liquid evaporates. Cut the crust on all sides of 10 slices of toast bread. Roll the bread into thin layers.

3
Done

When the apples are softened in a pan, add jam to taste, as well as starch. Now lay the fruit mixture on the edge of each rolled toast. Roll up the toasts.

4
Done

Place the roll-ups in a baking dish lined with parchment paper. Grease the dessert with a beaten egg, sprinkle with chopped nuts.

5
Done

Cook in an oven preheated to 350 °F (180 °C) until golden brown: up to 10 minutes. Sprinkle slightly cooled roll-ups with powdered sugar and a pinch of cinnamon.

These roll-ups are so easy and quick to make and require only basic ingredients. Did you like the recipe? Share your experience in the comment section.

Like many people nowadays, I love to explore new places. My favorite type is slow travelling, when you can really blend in with locals and learn about new cultures and languages. But I think there are also perfect times for enjoying freshly baked pastry, a cup of fragrant coffee, and a good movie in the comfort of your own home. I guess I'm kind of a cultural omnivore, and I watch different types of movies, but the ones about art and food inspire me the most!
