A classic combination of apple and cinnamon is a simple, but at the same time tasty filling for a Swiss roll. It is very easy-to-make. However, it is so hard to wait until the Swiss roll with apples is soaked and you can serve it.

Besides powdered sugar, you can decorate the treat with apple slices or mint leaves. Such a sponge cake with apples is perfect for a tea party.

Steps

1
Done

Preheat a frying pan, put peeled and thinly sliced apples in there, and pour half the sugar. Stir and fry.

2
Done

When the apple juice evaporates, sprinkle cinnamon on top, stir and fry a little more.

3
Done

Mix eggs, sugar and vanila extract, then add milk and beat with a mixer. Sift flour with baking powder in and mix until smooth.

4
Done

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, put the fried apples on it, pour the dough on top and distribute it evenly. Preheat an oven to 350 °F (180 °C) and bake the Swiss roll for 15 minutes.

5
Done

Cover the layer with another piece of parchment paper and put a cutting board on top. Holding the edges of the board, flip it over and remove the upper sheet of parchment paper. Using the remaining bottom sheet, roll up the cake and set aside for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Then sprinkle the top with powdered sugar.

Having prepared this Swiss roll with apples once, you will be surprised how beautiful, delicate and tasty it turns out. Even at the stage of caramelizing apples, an incredible aroma spreads throughout the house, suggesting that soon something very delicious will be on the table.

Like many people nowadays, I love to explore new places. My favorite type is slow travelling, when you can really blend in with locals and learn about new cultures and languages. But I think there are also perfect times for enjoying freshly baked pastry, a cup of fragrant coffee, and a good movie in the comfort of your own home. I guess I'm kind of a cultural omnivore, and I watch different types of movies, but the ones about art and food inspire me the most!
