Among all romantic gifts there’s only one better than a bouquet of flowers, and that’s a bouquet you can eat! We advise you to impress your beloved with a fantastic treat of potato roses with bacon.

These edible roses will impress not only your significant other, but also any guests you decide to invite alongside him or her! Dou you really like potatoes, but are just tired of familiar meals? Be sure to serve these roses as a snack or side dish, for example, to some deliciously cooked vegetables.

Steps

1
Done

Wash potato tubers under running water using a brush. If the peel is already old, just remove it.

2
Done

Preheat an oven to 400 °F (200 °C). Cut the potatoes into thin slices with a special knife or grater. Mix in a bowl with olive oil, salt and spices.

3
Done

Put 2 thin strips of bacon on a cutting board, so that they slightly overlap each other, put several slices of potato on top in the same way. Roll up the ingredients in a rose shape as shown in the video.

4
Done

Place the roses in a cupcake pan and put in the oven for 50 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven, sprinkle the roses with shredded parmesan and cook in the oven for another 5–10 minutes.

The finished "flowers" are easy to remove from the pan, and melted cheese prevents them from crumbling. It’s not necessary to make small servings. You can also cook one huge potato flower in a bakeware, and serve the meal right in it!

Like many people nowadays, I love to explore new places. My favorite type is slow travelling, when you can really blend in with locals and learn about new cultures and languages. But I think there are also perfect times for enjoying freshly baked pastry, a cup of fragrant coffee, and a good movie in the comfort of your own home. I guess I'm kind of a cultural omnivore, and I watch different types of movies, but the ones about art and food inspire me the most!
