Thinking through a holiday menu, you can hardly do without interesting appetizers. And a meat appetizer deserves special attention. So today we have prepared for you a recipe for a unique meat dish that will dress up your holiday table.

A multi-layer appetizer is a godsend for true meat lovers. The dish includes chicken, bacon and ham, which are perfectly combined with each other. But be careful about adding salt, as the ham and cheese are quite salty on their own. You can use raw pork bacon, raw smoked or cooked smoked one.

Steps

1
Done

Cut the fillet lengthwise into 2 parts, then lightly beat it with the palm of your hand. Season with salt and pepper on both sides.

2
Done

Put the bacon in the baking dish so that it hangs from the sides of the dish. A rectangular baking dish with tall sides is ideal.

3
Done

Slice the tomato and ham, grate the cheese. The ham should be thinly sliced.

4
Done

Lay the dish in layers. First, half of the chicken, then tomatoes, dried onions, cheese, ham, then again a layer of cheese, tomatoes and dried onions. Cover the last layer of chicken fillet with bacon that hung from the sides.

5
Done

Cover the dish with foil and bake for 40–45 minutes at 350 °F (180 °C). Let the dish cool at room temperature without removing the foil.

6
Done

Put a small weight, such as cans of pineapple on the dish, and put the dish in the refrigerator until it cools completely.

7
Done

Remove the foil and flip the dish over on a cutting board. Use a paper towel to remove fat, cut the appetizer into even slices, and transfer them to a serving dish.

This creative meat appetizer should be served cold. Thanks to the tomato, the dish is very juicy. You can try adding fresh green onions instead of dried ones, it is delicious. Enjoy your meal!

Like many people nowadays, I love to explore new places. My favorite type is slow travelling, when you can really blend in with locals and learn about new cultures and languages. But I think there are also perfect times for enjoying freshly baked pastry, a cup of fragrant coffee, and a good movie in the comfort of your own home. I guess I'm kind of a cultural omnivore, and I watch different types of movies, but the ones about art and food inspire me the most!
