First, make the crust. To a bowl add the crumbs, butter, and sugar. Stir to combine. Pour the crumbs into a 9-inch pie plate and form a crust. |

Bake in an oven preheated to 350 °F (180 °C) for 10 minutes. Let the crust cool on a wire rack for 20 minutes. |

Spread the mini marshmallows on the crust. Place the pie plate in the oven for 3 minutes. Make an even marshmallow layer. Let it cool for 20 minutes. |

Make the filling. To a bowl add the chocolate chips. Pour very hot heavy cream over the chocolate. Set aside for a minute. Add the butter and salt. Whisk the mixture until smooth. Add in the vanilla extract and whisky (optional). Let the filling cool for 20 minutes. Pour the chocolate mixture over the pie and spread with a spatula. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside at least for 8 hours. |

To make the meringue fill a medium saucepan ⅓ full of water. Bring the water to a simmer. To a large heat-proof bowl add the egg whites, sugar, syrup, cream of tartar, and salt. Beat the ingredients together. Set the bowl over the saucepan. Cook and whisk. The sugar should completely dissolve. Remove from heat. |

Beat the mixture on medium speed until it starts to thicken. Increase the speed to high, and continue beating until the mixture becomes glossy and holds its shape. |

Add the vanilla extract and beat for 2 minutes. Top off the pie with the marshmallow meringue. |
