There are so many baking recipes with apples. Some prefer a classic Tarte Tatin, others choose to whip up mug cakes. In general, there are numerous ways to use up a batch of apples. If you’ve tried most of them and want to make something fresh and unique, we are sure that this apple pie with sour cream topping won’t disappoint you.

In addition to its unique taste, the pie has an extraordinary aroma and is super easy to make. If you still doubt whether it is worth making it or not, preheat the oven right away.

In a bowl, rub the butter in the salt, ⅔ cup (130 g) sugar, and vanilla sugar.

One by one add in 3 eggs. Then gradually add the sifted flour along with the baking powder. Pour in the cream. Mix the batter, then place in a greased springform pan.

Peel the apples. Cut, core, and slice. Drizzle with lemon juice. Place the apples on top of the batter. Press them in a little and place the pie in the oven preheated to 350 °F (180 °C) for about 12 minutes.

In a separate bowl, combine the sour cream, the rest of the eggs, and sugar. Remove the pie from the oven. Drizzle the sour cream topping over the dessert. Bake for another 50 minutes.

The pie looks very festive. Especially if you spend a little more time and carefully overlap thin apple slices on top. We recommend serving the dessert hot, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
