Italy is among the most celebrated culinary countries in the world. No wonder, as it gave us lasagna, risotto, gnocchi, and, of course, pizza. There are countless variations of the latter, and some of them manage to surprise us still. Indeed, it is what we are setting out to do today. Cook It will show you how to make cauliflower pizza crust.

Who would have thought that an ordinary vegetable could serve as an excellent base for a hearty pizza? Furthermore, you can prepare cauliflower dough super quickly. The recipe calls for mixing it with egg and grated mozzarella and seasoning it with spices. This is not the full list of key ingredients, though. Fresh basil provides the cauliflower pizza crust with a tangy flavor.

Steps

1
Done

Cut cauliflower into florets and crush them in a blender. Pop into a microwave for 5 minutes to make it softer.

2
Done

Squeeze cauliflower through cheesecloth to get rid of excess fluid. Combine cauliflower with egg, half of the grated mozzarella, herbes de Provence, garlic powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly until homogenous.

3
Done

Place the resulting mass on a baking sheet lined with parchment, forming a circle. Pop in the oven for 15 minutes at 430 °F.

4
Done

Remove the crust from the oven, grease it with tomato paste and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella. Bake the dish for another 5 minutes at 445 °F.

Serve pizza hot from the oven. Do not forget to garnish it with chopped fresh basil, which will give the dish an incredible aroma. We hope you enjoy the unusual pizza with a cauliflower crust. Bon appétit!

I am an English major with a love of languages and fiction, and with an incurable travel bug. In my free time, I read fantasy, drink copious amounts of coffee, and like to go see movies. Culinary art means everything to me. My main hypostasis is the taster, though. The music school has taught me to appreciate the symphony of airy meringues, to create harmonious overtures of light snacks, hard rock of meat, fish, and vegetables on the grill. Choir classes have accustomed me to hear and feel the people nearby and create perfect harmonies of sounds.
