Bite-sized treats are perfect both for large crowds or if you want to take a snack to work. Today we would like to share with you an amazing recipe for pecan tassies. They are flaky mini pie cookies with a rich pecan filling.

If you’re looking for an easy and elegant treat, this mini dessert recipe is exactly what you need.

Steps

1
Done

Make the dough. Into a small mixing bowl add the butter and cream cheese. Beat them together until smooth. Mix in the flour and salt and stir to combine. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and leave in the fridge for at least an hour.

2
Done

Roll out the dough and cut out the circles for the crust. Place them into a mini-muffin pan. Preheat the oven to 350 °F (180 °C).

3
Done

Toast the pecans on a baking sheet for 8 minutes. Let cool and chop.

4
Done

Prepare the filling. Into a medium bowl, add the brown sugar, maple syrup, eggs, butter, vanilla, and salt. Stir to combine. Mix in half of the pecans. Fill the mini pie crusts with the mixture. Top off with the rest of the pecans. Bake for about 25 minutes rotating halfway through.

The aroma of browned butter and toasted nuts will fill the entire house. Let the cookies cool and serve to the table. Bon Appetit!

Like many people nowadays, I love to explore new places. My favorite type is slow travelling, when you can really blend in with locals and learn about new cultures and languages. But I think there are also perfect times for enjoying freshly baked pastry, a cup of fragrant coffee, and a good movie in the comfort of your own home. I guess I'm kind of a cultural omnivore, and I watch different types of movies, but the ones about art and food inspire me the most!
