Pesto is an Italian sauce with a strong flavor and aroma. This green dip is very popular for a reason. Firstly, the sauce goes well with many dishes, such as meat or pies. Secondly, you can easily make it at home. Today we are going to show you a recipe for crispy breadsticks with pesto sauce.
This is one of the variations of using this sauce. For the breadsticks recipe you will need 5 main ingredients: basil, garlic, olive oil, pine nuts and parmesan. We are going to bake the bread from a store-bought puff pastry. Very convenient and, most importantly, fast!

In a blender bowl, beat basil, garlic, pine nuts, half of the parmesan, olive oil and salt. You'll get a thick pesto sauce. |

Spread a sheet of thawed puff pastry on a cutting board lined with parchment paper. Generously grease the dough with pesto sauce. Then sprinkle with grated mozzarella. |

Cover the dough layer with another layer of puff pastry. Pinch the edges. Then cut the dough into strips of the same width. Twist the strips into “spirals” and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. |

Grease the sticks with beaten eggs. Season with salt and pepper. Then sprinkle with the remaining grated parmesan. After that bake the dish for 25 minutes at 350 °F (180 °C). |
