The ready-made puff pastry has to be one of the greatest culinary inventions. Firstly, it bakes in a jiffy. Secondly, you can cook virtually anything with this semi-finished product. Convenient, isn’t it? This time, Cook It wants to treat you to something sweet. and we cannot wait to share our recipe for homemade cinnamon twists.

To make this treat, you will only need one sheet of defrosted puff pastry. The filling is also pretty straightforward — sugar and cinnamon on a cushion of creamy goodness. It is enough for a splendid result, though. The sweet tandem is complemented by a gentle cottage cheese sauce, making the best homemade cinnamon twists… ever!

Steps

1
Done

Combine sugar with cinnamon in a bowl. Sprinkle some regular sugar on a wooden board or table. Then roll out a sheet of puff pastry on the sugar.

2

Melt the butter and use it to grease the sheet of dough. After that, sprinkle the dough with sugar and cinnamon.

3
Done

Cut the sheet of puff pastry into 8 equal strips. Cover each strip with a second strip and form a spiral.

4
Done

Place the cinnamon twists on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Pop in the oven for 20 minutes at 390 °F.

5

I am an English major with a love of languages and fiction, and with an incurable travel bug. In my free time, I read fantasy, drink copious amounts of coffee, and like to go see movies. Culinary art means everything to me. My main hypostasis is the taster, though. The music school has taught me to appreciate the symphony of airy meringues, to create harmonious overtures of light snacks, hard rock of meat, fish, and vegetables on the grill. Choir classes have accustomed me to hear and feel the people nearby and create perfect harmonies of sounds.
