Beef Broth – 1 ½ cups (355 ml)

Soy Sauce – 1 tbsp

Place ground beef, egg, tomato paste, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, breadcrumbs, pepper and salt in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly. Shape 4 oblong patties from the mixture. |

Dice an onion. Add it to the pan. Slightly reduce the heat. Caramelize for about 15 minutes. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons of flour and mix. Cook until the flour is golden-brown. Add thyme, cook for 30 seconds. Gradually pour broth and soy sauce while stirring. Raise the heat back. |
