Need a delicious dessert that is easy and quick to make? Then you simply must try this Zebra pie! This dessert looks so beautiful and unusual on its own that you won’t need to add any additional decoration!

The delicious pie will be a jewel of any holiday table, and the guests will definitely beg you to share the recipe. This pie alone proves that there’s nothing tastier than homemade baking!

Steps

1
Done

Whip the eggs with sugar to medium peaks, add 2 cups sifted flour, slaked baking soda, salt, sour cream and pre-melted and cooled butter. Whip all the ingredients with a mixer.

2
Done

Divide the resulting batter into two. Add the rest of the flour to the first half, and the cocoa powder to the second half. Mix both parts thoroughly.

3
Done

Grease a springform pan with butter. Pour the batter into the pan one tablespoon at a time, layering light and dark batters. You don’t need to mix anything. Make beautiful patterns on the surface with a toothpick or wooden stick.

4
Done

Put the springform pan in an oven preheated to 400 °F (200 °C) for 30 minutes. If you notice that the top of the cake is baked, and the middle isn’t yet, cover the springform pan with foil and reduce the heat to 350 °F (180 °C).

Congratulations! Your beautiful and delicious Zebra pie is ready. Serve it with a cup of hot tea and enjoy the taste!

Like many people nowadays, I love to explore new places. My favorite type is slow travelling, when you can really blend in with locals and learn about new cultures and languages. But I think there are also perfect times for enjoying freshly baked pastry, a cup of fragrant coffee, and a good movie in the comfort of your own home. I guess I'm kind of a cultural omnivore, and I watch different types of movies, but the ones about art and food inspire me the most!
