Chicken with mushrooms is one of the most popular combinations in cooking. And if you add some creamy sauce, it gets even more delicious. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Today we are going to tell you how to make the best garlic mushroom chicken thighs. And also why this recipe will require a minimum of ingredients: chicken thighs, mushrooms and spices.

Despite the absence of cream or broth in the recipe, the poultry will turn out juicy, with a small amount of sauce. All thanks to mushrooms: for the most part they consist of water, which during cooking turns into a fragrant broth.

Steps

1
Done

Combine the onion and garlic powders with dried rosemary and thyme. Add salt and pepper, mix and dredge pieces of chicken in the mixture (remove the bones from the thighs, remove the skin and trim the excess fat).

2
Done

Fry the chicken in olive oil until golden brown. Remove it from the pan.

3
Done

Melt the butter in the same pan, fry the mushrooms in it (season with salt and pepper, add a pinch of thyme and rosemary). Mix the mushrooms with crushed garlic and herbs.

4
Done

Put the chicken on the mushrooms, mix and simmer a few more minutes until cooked through.

The crucial ingredients in our chicken recipe are thyme and rosemary. It is thyme that makes mushrooms in any dish even tastier, while chicken goes well with rosemary. If you want to add piquancy and dimension to the sauce, add ½ cup (100 ml) of dry white wine. Serve the chicken with mushrooms right in the pan, sprinkled with fresh herbs if desired.

Like many people nowadays, I love to explore new places. My favorite type is slow travelling, when you can really blend in with locals and learn about new cultures and languages. But I think there are also perfect times for enjoying freshly baked pastry, a cup of fragrant coffee, and a good movie in the comfort of your own home. I guess I'm kind of a cultural omnivore, and I watch different types of movies, but the ones about art and food inspire me the most!
