How many new potato recipes have you tried? After all, this is the most versatile vegetable for a side dish. We especially love roasted potatoes!

Cooking potatoes in the oven is so easy. It’s great for meal prepping. While one dish is in the oven you can cook several others. But how to make a dish not only convenient, but also delicious? We know how to cook potatoes that melt in your mouth and will be happy to share our secret with you.

Steps

1
Done

It's better to use for this recipe potatoes that are good for mashing. After cooking, the inside should be very soft. Peel the potatoes and cut into about 1-inch (2 ½ cm) thick slices.

2
Done

In a separate bowl, combine melted butter with dried rosemary or thyme, sea salt, and a pinch of pepper. Pour the mixture over the potatoes, mix with your hands.

3
Done

Place the buttered slices next to each other in a baking dish. Cook them in an oven preheated to 475 °F (250 °C) for 15 minutes.

4
Done

Then flip the slices over and cook for another 15 minutes. When they are golden brown, add in the broth and sliced garlic.

5
Done

Cook the potatoes for another 15 minutes, until the broth is completely absorbed. It is at this stage that the dish becomes so tender.

You can add other spices to the dish during the cooking. For example, baked potatoes go well with paprika, lemongrass, and dried herbs. How do you cook potatoes in the oven?

Like many people nowadays, I love to explore new places. My favorite type is slow travelling, when you can really blend in with locals and learn about new cultures and languages. But I think there are also perfect times for enjoying freshly baked pastry, a cup of fragrant coffee, and a good movie in the comfort of your own home. I guess I'm kind of a cultural omnivore, and I watch different types of movies, but the ones about art and food inspire me the most!
